2026-07-04 — implement UI/UX design artifacts in the design phase

  • Phase: implementation → needs-review
  • Did:
    • Added design.uiArtifacts to config.schema.json and both config.yaml files (dir/format/selfContained/screenshotEvidence).
    • Added an optional spec-design-artifacts work-item artifact (docs/specs/<id>/design/) to manifest.yaml.
    • Added a UI/UX design inventory section to .the-loop/templates/design.md.
    • Wrote skills/the-loop/reference/design-artifacts.md — the designer iteration loop, the self-contained rule, Figma↔code source-of-truth, evidence & hand-off.
    • Wired create-design.md, work-on.md, SKILL.md, reference/workflow.md, reference/collaboration.md and README.md.
    • Recorded docs/decisions/decision-018.md (+ index).
    • Dogfooded the spec for issue-18, including a self-contained design/design-phase-artifacts.html illustrating a locked design artifact.
  • Checkpoint/tests: python scripts/validate_config.py → pass; pre-commit run --all-files (ruff/pyright/markdownlint/schema) → pass. See PR for exact output.
  • Next: human review of the design-phase convention and the illustrative artifact.
  • Blockers: none.
